Does Andorra airport exist?

Andorra-La Seu Airport (Aeroport d’Andorra-La Seu) is an airport facility located in the Alto Urgel region, south of Seo de Urgel in Catalonia. It is owned by the Generalitat de Catalunya and began hosting commercial flights in December 2021. It also serves as an aerodrome for general aviation and emergency flights. It is located on the Ensiula mountain between the municipalities of Montferrer Castellbó and Ribera de Urgellet.

What flight routes does this airport have?

Currently, Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell airport offers two routes (operated by Air Nostrum) connected to Madrid and Palma. On the route to Madrid, flights from Madrid (MAD) to Andorra (LEU) are scheduled on Fridays and Sundays at 18:20, while flights from Andorra to Madrid are scheduled on the same days at 20:30.

Additionally, during the winter season of 2023 and 2024, a new route will be activated between Andorra-La Seu d’Urgell airport and Palma. Flights will be operational from January 5 until March 31, 2024. On this route, flights from Palma de Mallorca (PMI) to Andorra (LEU) will take place on Fridays at 08:45 and Sundays at 13:45. Likewise, flights from Andorra to Palma will take place on Fridays at 10:45 and Sundays at 15:45.

Is there any bus service connecting the airport to Andorra?

Andorra Airport has a free shuttle bus service that connects with the National Bus Station in Andorra la Vella, adjusting its schedules to Air Nostrum flights.

The trip lasts 60 minutes. In addition, flying with this company provides connections with all of Spain, as well as with other European and intercontinental airports, using the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas International Airport as an intermediary.

What other options are available to you to get to Andorra?

Besides having at your disposal the airport of Andorra, there is another very common way to get to the country. You can choose to go to the airport of Barcelona-El Prat Josep Tarradellas (BCN). From there, you can take a bus to Andorra.

The bus line connecting Barcelona and Andorra

The bus line connecting Barcelona and Andorra stops at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Barcelona Airport. In Terminal 1, the pick-up point is located on floor 0, between platforms 7 and 12. In Terminal 2, the pick-up point is located in the arrivals area, next to the “Technical Block” building.

This service has as its final destination the National Bus Station in Andorra la Vella. In addition, customized stops in Andorra can be requested, although this option entails a supplement depending on the specific area.

How can I get from Barcelona airport to Andorra by car?

One of the most popular options is to travel from Barcelona airport to Andorra by car. This option offers a lot of freedom of movement and the journey takes about 2 hours and a half. On the way, you will have to overcome two tolls, one of 8.40 € in Manresa and another of 12.65 € before reaching the principality.

On the other hand, if you are going to make this journey in winter, it is essential to carry chains. Remember that once you enter Andorra, you may be driving on snowy or icy roads.

In conclusion, Andorra is served by Andorra-La Seu airport, offering routes to Madrid and Palma operated by Air Nostrum. In addition, there is a free shuttle bus service connecting the airport with Andorra la Vella, coordinated with the flights. On the other hand, you have at your disposal the option of Barcelona-El Prat, with a bus that arrives directly to Andorra, without forgetting the possibility of making the journey by car.
