Andorra’s public transport: one of the country’s jewels

Andorra is a country highly recognized for being framed by the Pyrenees, a lush natural landscape. This makes it a country with a wide variety of possible activities and it is very common for new residents to want information about public transport in Andorra. So, below, we show you all the options available.

Andorra public transport: all connections

In terms of service categories, the public transport system is divided into two main types: the express bus and the intercity lines. The express bus, identified by its orange color, is the fastest and most direct option connecting urban areas such as Escaldes-Engordany and Sant Julià de Lòria with Andorra la Vella. This service uses secondary routes that go around the urban centers and has stops on the outskirts of the towns.

On the other hand, the interurban lines link all the parishes and main towns through routes that cross the urban centers. In addition, you can buy tickets directly on the bus, to save you worries. However, bear in mind that they are usually active from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Pay attention to the following bus lines in order to be able to organize your day to day.

    • Line L1. It starts in Escaldes-Engordany and ends in Sant Julià de Lòria.

    • Line L2. Operates from Encamp to Andorra la Vella.

    • Line LC (Circular Line). Runs a circular route starting and ending at Consell d’Europa.

    • Line L4. Connects Pas de la Casa with Andorra la Vella.

    • Line L5. Connects Arinsal and Andorra la Vella.

    • Line L6. Operates between Ordino and Andorra la Vella.

    • Express Bus Line. Connects Andorra la Vella, Escaldes-Engordany and Sant Julià de Lòria.

    • Night Bus Line. Provides night services between different parts of the country, such as Escaldes-Engordany, Sant Julià de Lòria, Canillo, Ordino, Arinsal and Andorra la Vella.

In addition to the public transport lines in Andorra, its road connections stand out. This makes it an ideal country to enjoy cycling, so many visitors decide to make cycling routes with friends, as a couple or as a family.

Bicycles in Andorra: why are they an ideal option?

Bicycles in Andorra are a means of transportation, but above all they are used as a sport. This country has 21 mountain passes and more than 600 kilometers of routes, making it a cycling paradise. Its electrifying descents stand out, some of them approved for the MTB World Cup and others used in international competitions such as the Maxiavalanche. It also offers Cross-Country, Enduro, Four-Cross and e-Bike circuits, the latter increasingly popular among cyclists.

It is located in the spectacular surroundings of Pal and Arinsal, in the heart of the Andorran Pyrenees, reaching a maximum altitude of 2354 meters, accessible by bicycle-adapted chairlifts. The La Massana cable car provides easy access to the park, which combines nature, absorbing trails and first-class facilities, making it a favorite destination for both amateur and professional cyclists.

From professionals to beginners and families with children, there are options for everyone.
